So far this year, there have been 65 extortion-related incidents, 35 of which involved shootings. “If we’re talking specifically about this business, video, regrettably, has been a part of that playbook,” said MacDonald.
* He addressed international reports that the India-based Lawrence Bishnoi gang had taken responsibility for the shots fired, saying those remain “unverified claims.”

Since the story doesn't cover it, the cafe is owned by a stand up comedian from India who's jokes and public comments have drawn condemnation from an expat extremist living in Germany, Harjeet Singh Laddi, who is the head of a small extremist network and apparently claims to have ordered an earlier arson at the site. The proper thing to do is tell our elected officials to stop pandering to India. India has taken 0 accountability. Now mark carney is bootlicking. The message it sends is that we don’t care. I definitely won’t be stopping by to support them at this point. It sucks because it looks like such a cute little princess vibe diner and I think my kiddo would love the aesthetics too, but it’s not worth the risk at all. I’ve been wanting to go there since they opened, but each shooting reinforces my fear. 

I wonder how the employees are holding up and whether they’ve had a bunch of people quit. They’re unlikely getting danger pay or having extra safety measures implemented.

These shootings, extortion or gang related are completely out of control in a city that has far too few police officers for its population and geographic size. This is the 3rd shooting there and every time people have been inside working. The store is also located under an apartment building and across the street from a daycare. It's only a matter of time before people start getting hurt or killed.

I hope i am wrong, but from the looks of it, it looks like the punjabi gangsters might have something to do with it. This is their MO. Multiple threats and asking for money or whatever they want, if its not done, then shots are fired at the residence or some other property, causing fear. It's not related to any 'group who entered that resturant' , it has happened with not just the guys you named but , parmish verma , gippy Grewal, badshah , Honey singh , and 10+ punjabi singers ( not naming them because they are popular in Punjab itself and I am not sure rest of this sub's people would know them ) I just named the ones who everyone knows.. moreover, not just singers and actors , alot of businessmen who hail from India/punjab and are based in Canada are getting threats and paying ransom from like last 5 years or so. Canada has a big problem with Indian extortion gangs in the past few years and it's been skyrocking the past few months.

Those gangs are mostly comprised of Indian "immigrants" and are often linked to Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. They target businesses owned by Indians (both foreign and domestic) because they can't get the foothold in the drug trade, which is dominated by domestic gangs. 

As someone born in Canada to Indian parents, this pisses me off. In a span of a few years Trudeau opened the floodgates and shutdown all security measures in order to skyrocket immigration.  Indians who immigrated abroad to avoid this BS are now being caught up in it and the most messed up part is that these gangs target those who have achieved the highest levels of success.

If you're a successful Indian in Canada, regardless if you're born here or immigrated, there's a target on your back.
